This year I had the honor of being able to photograph two different events to the Tulip Time Festival here in Holland, MI. To kick off the festival Tulip Time and the Holland Young Professionals team up and throw a fun event for the Kentucky Derby called Tulips & Juleps. I had an opportunity to photograph this event last year and I was so excited they asked me to document it again this year. Another event they asked me to document this year was the Governors Lunch on Wednesday. To be honest, before they asked me to photograph this event, I had no idea this even happened. The Governor comes to Holland and joins hundreds of sponsors and people from the community for a luncheon at Hope College. After the luncheon and having the opportunity to hear the Governor speak, they head to the Parade and kick it off by street sweeping down 8th street. Wednesday’s parade is the first of three parades during the festival and it is so exciting that it kicks off by having the Governor be a part of it!
This blog post is full of some of my favorite images from the two events I had the opportunity to be a part of, as well as other various parts of Tulip Time I had the chance to take photos of. I love taking photos of the Tulips! Every spring I look forward to being able to come downtown Holland and take a few photos of them. They are just so beautiful and colorful.
Tulip Time Festival is such an amazing week downtown Holland and I am just so excited to share all of these favorite moments with you. Enjoy!
