A couple weeks ago I met up with Tim & Kristen for their engagement session. Somehow I convinced them that starting at 6:00 AM in the morning was a brilliant idea and I am so very glad they went for it! Sunrise sessions might just be my new favorite thing. This day in particular also had just a bit of cloud cover in the morning which really helped make the light very soft and beautiful. We started the session at Saugatuck Dunes State Park. This was a first time for me and it was definitely worth the trek we had to make to get to the beach. Just simply gorgeous! After the beach we got some really magical images in the woods on our way back. The way the light comes in through the trees is honestly one of my favorite things.

Another spot we went to was Felt Mansion. Something Tim & Kristen enjoy doing together is taking tours of old houses. So getting a tour of Felt Mansion and being able to do photos while inside was the perfect location for them. This was also something I have never done. I have been out and around Felt Mansion plenty of times but I had never actually been in it. Such a unique spot and I am so excited we were able to get inside.

We ended the session by heading back to Hudsonville to another place that is very special to them, Sara’s Pizza. Tim’s family owns the restaurant and they both work there. Tim had his old car there that has been with him since they started dating 8 years ago so they just had to include that car in their session as well. This part was just so fun. We laughed so hard which is my goal for engagement sessions. Let’s just get together and have a good time. Find places that are special to you or just pick a gorgeous location, the goal is to just laugh together and enjoy each others company. Which, I think mission was definitely accomplished here!
