Just recently, Missy contacted me about taking photos for a roller derby team she was on, The Lakeshore Derby Dolls (previously the Grand Haven Hell Kats). They were in need of someone do team photos, head shots for their website, as well as take photos of practice from time to time. One of my first projects for the Lakeshore Derby Dolls was to do a mini session with Missy, aka “Cyndi Drop-her”. I can’t tell you how much fun it was! First of all, Missy’s pants were simply awesome! I had no idea they made cassette tape pants! (I do know) Secondly, her hair and makeup were fantastic! Carrie from Flawlessly Finished Event Artists did such a great job on Missy’s make up and Christina at Engedi Salon did a wonderful job with Missy’s hair.
I am really excited about the opportunity to work with this growing roller derby team and continue to share photos from future sessions with you. As I mentioned, this team is still growing and they are still looking for women to join as well as corporate sponsors. They practice on Fridays, Sundays and Mondays in Holland and will hopefully start bouts against other teams next fall.
