A couple weeks ago I met up with Mark & Val on a foggy Saturday afternoon along the shores of Lake Michigan for their engagement session. When they attended Hope together they spent a lot of time at the Lake together and really wanted to incorporate that into their engagement session. They have watched many sunsets together and were really hoping for a gorgeous Lake Michigan sunset to top off their session but we were blessed with an amazing foggy backdrop instead. It wasn’t what they were hoping for but I have never had an opportunity to shoot in fog like this before and we all agreed that if we couldn’t have a sunset this was definitely the next best thing.

Climbing around in the dunes was definitely no easy task but it was oh so worth it. After shooting up in the dunes, I am definitely willing to do more shoots like this! Living in West Michigan with the gorgeous Lake Michigan lakeshore is such an incredible opportunity and I feel so incredibly thankful to have this area as a place that is so easily accessible to shoot at.
