James & Kaylie met up with me at Connors Bayou for their engagement session a couple weekends ago. Spring has finally arrived here in West Michigan and when we did their photos it was one of the weekends just after we received some snow.

Scheduling sessions this spring has been a challenge because everything has been so late to bloom, so I am glad we were finally able to get some spring like weather for this session even if the trees were just barely beginning to bud.

At the end of the day though it doesn’t really matter where you are for your photos and if the nature is blooming around you. What I loved about this session was not about where we were but that we were laughing through the whole session. The way that Jame & Kaylie laughed with each other and had fun together was so special. That is what makes for great photos.

If I could give you one tip for when you have a photo session done, it would be to not worry a ton about the location. Don’t get me wrong, I love a gorgeous or unique setting, but at the end of the day the thing that makes photos beautiful is who is in the photo and how they interact together. James & Kaylie are adorable together and their joy really shown through this whole session.
