Howard & Julie

Last week Saturday I photographed my Uncle Howard & Julie’s wedding and I could not possibly be more honored! Although the weather was a bit dreary, it didn’t dampen the mood of the day one bit. My Uncle Howard is one of the most kind men I know and I am very happy that he found Julie.

His daughter Laura shared this verse and I thought it was so fitting for the day so I thought I would share it along with this blog post as well. “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:16-19

One of the main focuses of the day was family so we made sure to spend a bulk of the time photographing their families. Some of my favorite moments that I captured from the day though were all of the hugs that were shared through out the day. I don’t know about you, but a really great hug brings me so much joy. Capturing that real emotion is what really gets me fired up on the wedding day. All of the posed family photos are wonderful to create but when I am able to photograph those real moments in between is what I really get excited about.

Another thing I really loved about their wedding day was how fun their reception was! It was so laid back and I loved the open house type feel. They had a lot of games for the kids to play, a caricature artist, a balloon animal sculpture artist and a fun photo booth. There were various food stations including an ice cream station, which of course was my favorite place to visit!
