Last week I met with Caleb & Kaila downtown Holland for their engagement session. They were such troopers smiling through the chilly temperatures! Despite the colder temperatures, it was so much fun walking around downtown with them as well as walking around part of Hope College’s campus. They are both students at Hope College, so it just seemed fitting that we would end their session at the place where they spend a lot of their time. What I learned about them first while I met with Kaila a couple weeks ago and again while we were doing their engagement session is that Caleb has had his eyes set on Kaila for a very long time. They have gone to school together for a very long time and they have been friends for many many years. The timing just never was quite right though. Then, one summer during college Kaila received a gift from Caleb and she realized that he really understood her and things started to really change in their relationship. They ended up going on a date to PF Changs and now here we are today! I just love their story. It’s a story of when you know how you feel about someone and never giving up. It’s also a story of realizing how great someone is and timing. Sometimes you may know someone your whole life, but the timing just isn’t quite right and it won’t work out well then. But because waiting on that perfect timing, here they are today.

They were just the sweetest couple and I had such a great time working with them. I can tell that they have been such good friends for so long and I loved the way they could just so easily laugh together. I just really love engagement sessions and working with couples. During this down season it was especially fun to be able to get out and spend some time with this adorable couple. Here are some of my favorites from their session!
