Saturday March 28, 2015 was a chilly 31 degrees but the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day for the marriage of Craig & Amy. All wedding days are special but what made Amy & Craig’s wedding day extra special was that a few days before they weren’t even sure that Amy was going to be well enough to participate in all of the wedding day preparations they had planned. The week prior to their wedding, Amy was in the hospital battling pneumonia and thankfully she was discharged Friday and the Wedding was able to go on as originally planned. A lot of time and dedication goes into planning a wedding day and I am thankful that Amy & Craig were able to be married and celebrate with their close family and friends as originally planned.
I met up with the Bridal party at Jennifer Alison salon in Grand Haven while they were having their hair and make up done. What a cute salon! I am a sucker for lime green so I fell in love with the decor of the salon instantly, add on top of that a fun atmosphere and great stylists to work with, you have the perfect place to have your wedding hair done.
The wedding took place at Second Reformed Church in Grand Haven and I fell in love with the stain glass windows! What a gorgeous church! And the reception was held at one of my favorite reception locations, Harbourfront Place downtown Grand Haven. They always have delicious food, a great in house DJ, Movin’ Music, and it is a incredibly gorgeous room in a beautiful city.
Because of Amy getting over having pneumonia we didn’t do as many photos outdoors as what I would like and what I would normally do because of the weather being so cold, however the day was so fun despite everything not going exactly as planned. Amy and Craig are an incredible couple and their love for one another was so apparent during the day and that is all that matters. Wedding days may not always happen as planned, the week before the wedding may not go as planned, but the important part of the wedding is not that the day runs smoothly (although thats always a bonus when it does) the important part is that two people who care for each other and love each other deeply are making a life long commitment in front of family and friends. And that, to me, is the only thing that really matters.
Thank you Craig & Amy for inviting Kristen and I to capture your gorgeous wedding day. Amy, you were such a stunning bride and it truly was an honor to be a part of such a beautiful day. I hope you enjoy this preview of images captured.
